Join me in supporting the Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society’s annual Spring Birdathon to raise money for our education and conservation efforts.

EDUCATION—Our signature Wetlands Discovery Program, as well as Bird ID & Adaptation Presentation, Bird Beak Investigators, Bird Walks, Nest Box Building, and Owl Pellet Dissection serve 1200 students annually and introduces children to the wonder of our local avifauna. We hope to offer more online and streaming curriculum that will align our programs with the newest standards, as well as create more robust adult education options.

CONSERVATION—Our conservation and advocacy efforts continue to show results such as the preservation of North Coyote Valley, and our work with Burrowing Owls, and the Cavity Nesters Recovery Program. We look forward to more successes, but rely on your support to make things happen.

I am leading 6 different teams this year that range from wide-ranging dawn-to-dusk tours, to stationary bird-in-place efforts. All teams are designed to observe health official recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As such, the teams have been converted to a “distributed” format where all members work independently, and then those lists will be combined at the end of the day.
